5th Grade Math Lab

Mrs. Ballou's 5th grade Math Lab. Students worked with Geostix, Geoboards, and Geometric Shapes.  This is an example of the STEM lessons 5th grade students are doing this school year.

STEM is important because it teaches critical thinking skills and instills a passion for innovation. Beyond the benefit of learning science, technology, engineering, and math, STEM assists in the problem-solving and exploratory learning that fuel success across a variety of tasks and disciplines

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. STEM for kids develops creators, thinkers, problem solvers, doers, innovators, and inventors. Exposing kids to simple STEM activities at an early age today sets a foundation for higher learning tomorrow.
