Oklahoma State Testing for Art Goad Elementary

Art Goad students had a fantastic educational experience! Incorporating the solar eclipse into various subjects like reading, geography, and science helps students understand the event from different perspectives and deepen their learning. It's great to see teachers finding creative ways to engage students with real-world phenomena.

Art Goad Elementary Parents,
This week, our third graders read a wonderful story in reading called “Farmer will Allen and the growing table.“. The story inspired us to plant some lettuce in the raised garden beds! We are thrilled to share that soon, spinach, squash, and green beans will be joining our garden plants. Can’t wait for you to see our garden flourishing with these delicious vegetables.

The Great North American Eclipse is coming April 8, 2024... and we want to see it! According to the National Weather Service, on average, any given location on Earth is estimated to see a total solar eclipse only every 360-410 years. Saying this event is "rare" may be taking it too lightly. For some, it is a once-in-a-lifetime e vent. The next total solar eclipse viewable in the contiguous United States will be more than 20 years later, on August 22 and 23, 2044. The next total solar eclipse viewable in Oklahoma and Arkansas will be August 12, 2045.
Art Goad Elementary has developed plans to make this event safe, educational, and fun!. We have solar eclipse viewing glasses so we can observe during the eclipse. The glasses comply with the ISO 12312-2 international safety standards.

Art Goad Elementary "For the Love of Reading"
We are excited to share that every month at Art Goad Elementary, we celebrate our love for reading with engaging and enjoyable activities to make reading a delightful experience for all our young readers.
During the month of March, we embraced the "March Madness" theme. Our dedicated teachers were divided into different brackets and classrooms to conduct special read-aloud sessions. For instance, Mrs. Ballou enchanted a second-grade class with her reading, Mrs. Davis captivated a fifth-grade class with her storytelling, and Mrs. Hunt engaged a first-grade class with her animated read-aloud.
The positive feedback and enthusiasm from everyone were overwhelming, and we look forward to hosting more of these events in the future. A special thank you to Mrs. Reed for her outstanding organization of this wonderful initiative!

Mrs. Stevie is preparing classroom rewards for Perfect Attendance! Rewards that are fun and memorable can motivate students to strive for consistent attendance. Thank you Mrs Stevie for making a difference in our school!
