Art Goad Elementary Spreads Holiday Cheer to Local Veterans
Fourth graders at Art Goad Elementary School, together with Mrs. Pauling and members of the DAV Auxiliary, helped make the holidays a little brighter for Rogers County Disabled Veterans residing in area nursing homes. Students created handmade cards and ornaments to honor their service while promoting the spirit of Americanism.
Fire Chief Craig Sampson, Police Chief Gabe Dickenson, 4th-grade teachers Mrs. Hunt and Mr. Stoney, Superintendent Matt Hagebusch, and Principal Zenda Willcut joined students in delivering the gifts as a gesture of gratitude.
Art Goad Elementary hopes these tokens of appreciation bring joy to the veterans who receive them and serve as a reminder that students and staff are thinking of them this holiday season.

This year, Chelsea Public Schools proudly introduced our first-ever District Support Staff Member of the Year award, expanding recognition beyond site-level honors to celebrate the vital work of our Child Nutrition, Transportation, Maintenance, IT, and Central Office teams.
With 25 nominations representing 10 outstanding individuals, the response highlighted just how deeply appreciated our support staff are across the district.
We are excited to recognize Phillip Stephens as our District Support Staff Member of the Year. Serving as both IT Specialist and Custodial Supervisor, Phillip’s behind-the-scenes work helps keep our schools safe, connected, and ready for learning each day.
We are grateful for all of our support staff whose dedication directly supports students and staff, and we extend a sincere thank you to The Bank of Commerce for sponsoring all site-level and district awards this year.

During the Christmas season, Ms. Veysey’s Lead4Change Leadership class dedicated time to a meaningful community service project by creating and coloring Christmas cards. As part of the course, each student selected a service project for the semester, allowing them to apply the leadership skills they are developing in class. This particular project was led by Dakota and involved the design, printing, and coloring of more than 500 Christmas cards. With the help of classmates, friends, Boys & Girls Club students, and members of NHS, all cards were completed on time and delivered to the Claremore Veterans Center, Claremore Skilled Nursing, The Courtyards, Brookdale, and Memory Care.

Angel Tree pickup: We have made calls to every person on our Angel tree. Most have picked up, but we left messages for all the ones we could not get hold of. The next time we will hand out the angel tree gifts will be tomorrow Friday, December 19th from 1-3:30. We cannot hand out earlier than this because we are doing our Christmas Program in the morning. Thank you.
