Art Goad students singing " Oh I Love America" to our Veterans today. Thank you for your service to our country.

Ms. Moore, 6th grade ELA teacher, is a Navy Veteran. Today, she invited Mr. Lawhon, 7th grade math teacher and Army Veteran in to talk to her students about his military service.
Students in Ms. Moore's classes have been writing letters to veterans this week. They have also been writing letters to students across the country through the Great Mail Race.
What is the Great American Mail Race? It is a way for students to learn how to write friendly letters, while learning about our country.
This is a letter-writing challenge that connects students from all around the United States. Student are assigned a state and they must select three schools within that state to write a letter challenge to. The goal is to receive letters back from schools across the country.
By the end of the week, Ms. Moore's classes will have written over 140 letters!
What a fun creative way to engage students in writing!
