Nothing like the sound of Pull!!! Oklahoma Wildlife Managment Association had a charity sporting clays contest today.  Chelsea FFA Chapter took two teams and was graciously sponsored by Ms Erica Rixen at First National Bank and Mr Dillion Payne at Noble Research Institute.  As always The Side X Side Ranch were wonderful host as well. Seven Chelsea FFA students attended the event. One of the more challenging events but also the funnest of the year. Two targets were presented to the shooters in many different directions and speeds.  Chelsea took away a little hardware having 1st and 2nd place girl shooters for the day! We got to hang out with a couple  shooting friends from Foyil and man look at the cool buggy we got to drive around in!!

Isaiah Holt, a sophomore from Chelsea recently attended BASICS at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, OK. Basics is a leadership workshop hosted by the Oklahoma Association of Student Council in which CHS STU-CO is a member and officer. The delegates are from all over the state of Oklahoma. They spent 10-12 hours daily learning and practicing leadership skills in student council groups. Isaiah had this to say about BASICS. "It has allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. I learned that it is alright to be genuine to yourself and not to worry about judgement. BASICS is more than a camp to me, it has become a lifestyle and to be a better person." Also attending was Pam Phillips who is one of CHS STU-CO advisors. " BASICS is not a camp, it is a workshop. I was so fortunate to attend as an intern advisor and look forward to many more years of working for the OASC. The time and effort put into each student was amazing. They came in as strangers and left as a family. I am also happy to report CHS has two more students attending in the July session as well as my co-advisor.Thank you to all who supported these students during the fundraising event in April." "Come to the edge," they said. "It is too high," we said. "Come to the edge," they said. "We might fall," we said. "Come to the edge," they said, So we came- They pushed us- And we flew. by Christopher Logue. Great job Isaiah and Pam on representing Chelsea Schools!!!
