CHS had our 1st of what I hope becomes a yearly tradition. We had an all staff/student Thanksgiving Dinner!! Thanks goes out to our cafeteria staff for preparing the turkey and our hospitality committee for preparing the rest of the food!!! All staff members brought a dessert with them and we ate together in the commons as one Dragon family!! We hope everyone has a wonderful break and Happy Thanksgiving!
In honor of Native American Heritage month, the Johnson-O'Malley program presented all 1st-grade students with three books written by Native American author Georgia Perez and illustrated by Native American artists Patrick Rolo and Lisa A. Fifield. We hope the students and their families enjoy the stories and the chance to share in the culture!
Meet the Dragons is tonight for all Chelsea Dragon basketball players and cheerleaders. Come out and support our Dragon athletes at 6:30!
CHS Student Council recently attended the 83rd OASC State Convention held at Owasso High School. With over 1500 students and sponsors from across the state of Oklahoma it was an event to remember. This year was a superhero theme, The Courage Within. Students were challenged to look inward to find the power for personal growth and leadership. The students spent time in many workshops. They enjoyed many guest speakers, food, fun, and games. More importantly they renewed friendship. At the final general session all award winners were announced as well as the new State Officer teams. We are proud to become a Gold Star Chapter. Chelsea is also the President school for District 6 schools in our region. We are super proud of all the students and advisors' hard work for our school and community.
Mrs. Hoskins's reading group enjoyed a hands-on lesson this morning! They discussed how to compare and contrast topics while learning about her prosthetic arm and a student's toy robotic hand. Mrs. Hoskins shared all about how her prosthetic works and the story of how she came to have it, including some words of wisdom: "Whatever life gives you, you can overcome...We get to pick how we see life and what we do with our life."
