Chelsea JOM students recently traveled to the Cherokee Nation capital to compete in the annual Cherokee Language Bowl — representing our district with pride and determination.
With only two years in the program and 20 students participating, our middle school and elementary teams stepped into strong competition and held their own against schools from across Green Country.
While we didn’t bring home a trophy this year, our students gained something even more valuable — confidence, experience, and a deeper connection to Cherokee language and culture.
We are incredibly proud of their effort and grateful to our sponsors and mentors who make this opportunity possible.

Chelsea Public Schools is proud to share a leadership transition at Art Goad Elementary as Mrs. Zenda Willcut retires after 19 years as principal and Dr. Kimberly Morgan steps into the role.
We are deeply grateful for the culture, care, and commitment Mrs. Willcut has poured into our students, staff, and families. At the same time, we are excited for Dr. Morgan to lead with heart, vision, and continuity as she begins this next chapter.

Championship Saturday for the 2026 John Michael Humler Memorial Basketball Tournament! Chelsea Girls at 1:00, Chelsea Boys at 2:30! Live auction between our Girls & Boys game for pies, parking spaces, family passes, 1/2 hog from Lyle's Meat Processing, and one general spray from Mullis Pest Control & other great items. Please stop by and select angels for you and your family to help make Christmas morning special. If you are running out of time for shopping, and would like to make a donation, we have designated shoppers who would be glad to do that task for you. You can drop your donation by Longfellow ELC at 206 East 4th Street. We could also use toys for children ranging from ages 3 to 12. We appreciate each and every one who has already shopped for your sweet angel! May Christmas be merry and bright for all children!
